Show Update #13- Halloween Show at the Trinity Cathedral

Quite funny, if you ask me, that the 13th show I have been to was a Halloween show. Coincidence? Maybe so.

Well thanks to marching band, i was late for the show, very late. Thank you mr. O. I arrived, found my friends, asked what band was playing, Local Demise was the response. I didn't know they were going to be playing. I later found out that they were a last minute replacement for Ku Da Ta who had to back out...last minute.
I've had mp3s by Local Demise on my computer for a while, thanks to Joey. I have listened to them for a while, but I never saw them at a show. They broke up like a year before I ever started going to shows. Well now they are back together.
I recognized the drum beats. The drummer was none other than the drummer from the Sidewalk Heroes. He only knows and plays like 2 rock beats, and a couple modifications of those 2 rock beats. That seems to be all he plays for whatever band. Thats alright though, the bassist was real good. The guitarist had some awesome solos. And the singer was really good.
They were rocking pretty well. The pit was going crazy. Skanking. Moshing. Slide tackles. Little Munchkins getting killed. 1 vs 1's. shoulders glued to ears and still yanking. Random stuff. Paul G. came in and decided to throw Yapes, Joey, and then me into the pit. As i flew in someone tripped me up and I fell on my ass to slide across the floor. It was quite fun. After being picked up by some fellow show goers, I jumped back in and started running around. Again Paul knocked into me and I went tripping over the wires, luckily i saved my balance by redirecting my momentum and slamming into Paul to stand up again. Later Ian got almost knocked out by a huge Kyle Helm, but Yapes then Ian threw him into the table, heh.
Local Demise, much better than any mp3.

Next up was CrackFiller. They featured a black guy with a huge fro. A guy with face paint and a pikachu glove. A drummer with green hair. And some really hot chicks with huge knockers and very exposing clothing, who turned out to be just groupies. Then me and Joey went outside to get some fresh air, some Juicy Juice, and to say good bye to Ian and Emily.
When we came back inside the black guy with a huge afro had morphed into a black guy who was bald. I was like whoa! what the fuck. Then i realized the now apparent wig was sitting on the stage.
Well CrackFiller started out pretty good. The actual band was pretty rad, hardcore, heavy. The now froless vocalist had a good voice combined with some good back up vocals. The band even featured a fog machine, so the pit was enveloped in smoke. I didn't even mind the rap over metal type of vocals of the band. It was the lead singer's, the guy with the face paint, voice that was bad. It was horrible.
I mean sometimes a flat voice sounds pretty good, but this guy could not sing for shit. And then he was rapping and it just got old. Whoever told him he should sing should get their marbles checked. After the 3rd or 4th song, CrackFiller was old, decrept, dead, in my mind. At the beginning i was nodding my head, by the end i was standing with my hands in my pockets, tapping my foot every once in a while...when the beat would catch me.
The pit didn't share my general conceptions of the band, though, i guess. First there was a big pit that was full of like 20-30 people. I often enjoyed running to one of the ends and pushing like 5 people, to push the whole pit towards the other side of the floor. Then there were people crowd surfing. Pointless, yes, but it wasn't really crowd surfing. It was more like a mass of people running around, supporting a person above them. The person didn't move, the people underneath him moved and carried him with them. Still, the first time, ever, i've seen that at a local show
Oh yea, at the end the guy with face paint said "Thanks to all the guys who moshed with me earlier, it was a good time". He was probably referring to Joey, who in reaction to the kid knocking over yapes from behind, knocked over the kid and then yelled "I'm going to slit your throat". LOL...mark...

Later the only word i could think of to describe CrackFiller was "meh" with a waving of the hand in the action of shooing a fly away. I got to talking to Yapes and then Tyler from Gangus Kon. It sucks i missed seeing them, but Tyler said he would bring a demo to the next show with my name on it. Haha.

Alright well thats it, check out the flyer. Its pretty cool.

me and joey show up early to help set up(And get in for free) we set up some tables and junk but then we saw some little kids playing kickball. so we joined in. it was fun, very fun. but i fell, really hard. ha. all the little kids laughed, but it was fun.
so finally the show started. lets just go through the bands, shall we?
deliverence=guy wearing a dress. bass player going wacky and kicking the singer. great band!! too bad it was their last show
tonight we're avena=another great band. grabbed their set list again.
gangus kon=amazing as usual. did a nice cover of gg alen. me and some kid grabbed the mike and sang the chorus, being that is all i knew.
local demise=good band. people went wacky.
crack filler=a strange band for many reasons. maybe it was one of the singers wearing a pikachu glove and face paint, or the other singer, a black guy wearing a huge fro, which turned out to be fake. or maybe the rap over metal kinda sound. cant say they were my favorite, but good none the less.

what else happend at that show? me and joey found a stash of juicey juices, boy they were good. ha so good that i decided to go in a pit with one.
speaking of pits, people sure went crazy here, like, football tackling crazy. it didnt stop me from having fun but it did leave me with many more battle scars then usual. like the two large bruices on my arms, or my left thigh just...i dont know. but its horrible and it hurts to move. and we have to play tonight. >_< stupid leg.
some lame guy came in and tackled me from behind so when i get up i see joey fighting with some guys about it, so that wasnt good. people can be dicks, what can i say?
like that guy trying to drag that girl out when she didnt want to, he deserved those hits.
overall it was a good night.

well, gotta get ready, show tongiht. hopefully my leg wont hurt too much
