Show Update #7- Saturday Night at Mercer County Park

This was a free show that i was able to go to. It was at a park, outside, where they have free shows each Saturday, only usually the music is classical music. There were a lot of old people who showed up which was funny, also i saw my old 5th grade teacher who is the father of Mike from the Sidewalk Heroes. There were only two bands, and it was Cryptkeeper and the Sidewalk Heroes which makes it great. I always like seeing Cryptkeeper and i don't mind sleeping through the Sidewalk Heroes' set.

Band #1- the Sidewalk Heroes
Since i've seen this band many times i have started to lose interest in them. Sure the first time i heard them i thought they were pretty good, but after the 3rd and 4th time you start noticing similarities between the songs and how the sound is trendy but not too technical. I hate to be a critic, but now at shows i usually sleep through the Sidewalk Hero set. This time i just talked to my friends and enjoyed the open air. I was kind of happy that we arrived late and missed the beginning of the set. You know, Joey McMullen on the topic of "the Sidewalk Heroes" put it very well on how the band is. After hearing them play a song by the Misfits he said "Man its really sad, their covers are better than the songs they write," so true...

Band #2- the CryptKeeper Five
Cryptkeeper is the reason i wanted to go to the show. With clouds in the West slowly making their way towards us, a fear of not getting to see them saddened me. Then it was their time to be on stage and as usual the microphone settings were fucked. Anyway the energy when they got on stage was amazing as usual. Many people from all around were all the sudden at the stage in one big pile of masses. Cryptkeeper paid respect to the elders and didn't start off with a traditional "All you mother fuckers gonna rock this joint", but thats alright maybe next time. Me and Joey were at dead center front stage, right under Johnny. We had eyes on the set order and i was amazed to see "Born" written on the list which could only mean "Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen. Anyway the show went along, me singing, me headbanging as usual, me dancing a little. No skanking for me though, too many Sidewalk Heroes drummers in the pit. When they sang Bruce, i was the only person to know all of the words, as usual. I love Cryptkeeper. Its fun to be a part of something so great.

Lets Review:
We were lucky to miss the rain. It just began to drizzle when Cryptkeeper finished. I would've paid for getting into the show if i had too, it would be too much to miss otherwise.
