Show Update #6- Saturday Night at the Trinity Cathedral

Band #1- Indecent
This has to be one of the worst bands i've heard ever. It was more than just not agreeing with their music, it was that i could play better and sing better than them. They came out, lead singer sweaty and in a wife beater (looked like he just got done playing basket ball). Bassist, strap way too long for him, its prolly what cause him to have trouble playing well. Drummer, hat too the side. Guitarist, preppy pop punk kid. They sounded like Metallica with not the really good drums and guitar but a really crappy try-at-punk background. The worse was that they all switched their instruments, and each time they sounded even worse, (ex. the lead singer was worse on bass than he was at singing or screaming or whatever). Also the drummer had a great idea to get the crowd to join him in saying "FUCK YOU!" to a bowl-cutted KW Gothic, who was on stage, in the middle of a church. Nice idea, it made you look stupid. Oh and i liked the name, "Indecent", it fit.

Band #2- Tonite We're Avena
Oh man they were freeking awesome. Heh, they had fros, well long hair, like myself. They had a more of an indie sound to them with good lyrics and great musicianship. The lead singer made some weird effects on his voice, for instance, making his voice seem to waver by moving the microphone away and back. I did happen to have to go take a shit in the middle of their set, which sucked. Luckily, though, i could hear through the ceiling of the bathroom. I wanted to go buy their cd, supposedly for 2 dollars, but i didn't see it on the tables in the back. I hope to see this band again because i really agreed with their music and would like to hear more of it.

Band #3- Gangus Kon
They had an amazing set. They just basically went up there and improvised. I don't think they had a set list. I don't think they had idea of which song they wanted to play after their main ones. They just played. I really like this band. They combine hardcore with rock. After they finished their main set they covered "One Arm Scissor" by At the Drive In, and since they didn't remember the lyrics Brian Mcclendon went up and sang for them. Oh it was excellent. They still don't have merchandise. They need to get a cd out, though i hear, now they're on deadpan records as of tonight.

Band #4- Never the Less
I don't know much of what they played, what happened. The male groupies of the band suddenly appeared out of thin air and took to the front stage. I, on the other hand, played hackey sack with a group of friends and complete strangers, alike. Then i had a slice of pizza for dinner, and still didn't pay any attention to the music. Does Never the Less sound the same as they did in the first show, probably. Do i really know if they do because i pay that much attention to them, nope, i don't really care.

Band #5- No More
This band had been touring with CryptKeeper for the past month while they were down south, and CryptKeeper invited them along to play at the Trinity Cathedral. They are from Florida, so i wanted to hear what they sounded like. What was cool was that they all seemed to be in their thirties and still into the scene. They had a very classic punk rock sound to them when they started their set. Most of their lyrics were anti-war, anti-bad politics, anti-bullshit. One word, awesome. This lead me to believe that their band name was so that they could just be like "No more *space reserved for some bullshit item of modern society*" in common converstion and in the same instance use their band name. I bought a promo cd by them and a shirt.

Band #6- the CryptKeeper Five
Bah, what can i say. Excellent. I stood at the front stage. I moshed. I skanked. I got extremely sweaty. I sang. I knew the lyrics. And the bottom line, I had fun. CryptKeeper really knows how to throw a show. Unfortunately it was getting late and i have work the next day so i had to leave early. I missed Joey going up on stage and singing with them. I did see them rocking out though. And i danced even though i'm tall and lanky and therefore i can't because i'm stupid in body or something. They always do this too me, i lose thought of what others will think. I just think about myself and rocking out.
