Show Update #3- Elmo, Morris, and Sam Do America Tour

Hmm i have completely changed my looks upon these bands that played. I was slightly upset over the whole Barely Legal breaking up and not playing thing but hey, shit happens. I arrived with Jessica and Sut through walking. I met up with Shawn and my g/f Val and got front row seats. Oh man some people were standing, haha suckas. I prepared myself for the free beverages and snacks provided that would fulfill my cravings. And then at 4:30 on the dot (not sure if on the dot, i didn't bring my watch), Arrow Three commenced the "warm up"

Band #1- Arrow Three
They started off with a traditional song called "Intro", after the warm up was over. All i can say is nice, nice, very nice. Well as usual the classy Joe Shure owned on guitar. Right off the bat he played a couple darn good solos and put all others in the dust. Haha even my good friend Shawn, after 3 minutes of listening, looked over and said "Man...Joe really is good on guitar". Brian Mcclendon, vocals, did a splendid job, his voice is really Saves the Day sounding. And Yapes as always, was good. I still think i've got him in skill though...heh heh. Oh and Charolette had amazing drummer skills, she was a good addition to the band back in the day, its good they found her. So anyway they covered Sink to the Beat by Cursive, pretty well, they played a couple parts in it i didn't exactly recognize but i'm sure its just my bad memory. They also played some of their own stuff which was great. One thing i noticed is that their songs just end, they need a fader effect or something...might work a little better. Good set guys i could understand all your lyrics, well most, and i think the outside show was a good idea. They ended the set with a traditional song called "the Outro".

Band #2- the Never New Johnnies
Well all i can say is these guys are characters. The first thing i noticed was their stage set up. Haha Humps was up on the deck while Matt and Ian were on the concrete. It was pretty neat. Next thing you know Humps is going to be on hydraulics, with the direction they are going. Once again i enjoyed the acoustics of the whole stage set up, i could finally understand the lyrics of "James Lemming Style" and could laugh along with everyone else. And the ACDC cover, even better. They mixed it up a lot in the style of songs that they played, they went from hardcore guitar with fast rhythms that was good to skank too (which dlam, paul, joey m., and yapes took a liking too) and then all the sudden a real slow song that was somber and melodic. They also covered Arrow Three, and many other good bands. Then towards the end of their set i went to get some chips and heard something about a dedication to Barely Legal and i think myself, i'm not sure. Well what do you know, it was a cover of "Space Heater", (wrong chords) with new lyrics. Heh oh man, and even better the lyrics were mine. I got played by the Never New Johnnies. I feel famous, its craazzzaaaaaaaayyyyyy. Haha and it was put up with their humorous sense of humor, so yes it was a mock out song of myself, yet it was a really good, funny song. I mean who knew sending i think 4 songs to 1 good friend could end up with 3 of the 4 being sent to every single person i know in the whole world, heh even more people than that. Not even full songs, just ideas, choruses, dumb stuff that i made up while taking a crap, or listening to weezer, or both. 1 thing i know, though, is that the 1 that didn't get sent must've been pretty damn good for no one to ever hear it. Anyway back to the show, they used the famous "I am an animal" line that so many people quote me on, and they made a verse with the "Johnny 5" chorus. Heck i am one hell of a good lyricist to be taking a crap, record some idea i make, send it to a friend, and my lyrics to be used by NNJ. Hmm well i really liked the song, the whole time i couldn't stop smiling and laughing. Anyway moving on, Brian and Yapes started skanking, so i had to get up and join the circle and skank horribly because of my legs being cold. I mean you can't just sit around, you have to skank to your own song atleast. I heard shawn and dave discussing, suing the NNJ, but i had to explain to them how they had switched the guitar chords to back themselves up. Well it was a really great set, I enjoyed it a bunch, and i think NNJ has gotten so much better since the last show i saw.

Band #3- ?
This is a band that formed right on the spot and supposedly wrote 3 songs. I don't know though, they went up there, played "Baaaaalllllllssss" or actually something that sounded exactly like "Sandwhich" and "The Song About Making A Song" in rhythm (probably DLam's influence) and turned off their amps and left after about a minute. The supposed band consisted of Paul Garrison, Dave Lam, Liz Pelican, Kacey Kull, and Shawn Housel on drums. Well good luck to them, hope they make it to the next show.

And with the ? another great show ended.
